Property Club is committed to helping property investors find their feet in the market through our education, support, and partnership with one of our trained Property Mentors. This is what drives each of our team members, and this is what has inspired Roger Galway during his fifteen-years as one of Property Club’s valued Branch Managers.
Roger has established a career helping property investors discover the benefits of investing. He has always found gratification and pleasure in seeing the fruits of an investment pay off, and his branch’s success has been built on the ethos of helping others realise their investment dreams.
With Roger being a Property Club Branch Manager since 2007, he has experienced a wealth of great member success stories that warm the heart. These stories showcase the care and value that Roger and his team of Property Mentors put into each and every one of their members that they work with across Victoria, Tasmania, and the Northern Territory.
Turning the Teacher into a Property Investor Since he started, Roger has always kept his children actively engaged in his Property Club ventures. His two children are now adults embarking on their own investment journeys, but there were times when this knowledge showed up at a much younger age.
When Roger’s daughter, Jeanette, was in Grade 9, she was undertaking an assignment involving discussions about money. Such discussions were a common topic of conversation around the Galway family dinner table, so Jeanette ended up explaining to her teacher what ‘equity’ in property meant and how it worked.
Her teacher was so impressed by Jeanette’s knowledge on the topic, that she called Roger that night. At first, Roger was concerned why his daughter’s teacher was calling him at such a late hour. However, the teacher was calling to ask some questions about her own circumstances in investing in property.
That teacher has since become a longstanding member of Property Club and has gone on to purchase two investment properties with Roger and his team’s help. Roger couldn’t be prouder of Jeanette for speaking up that day and convincing her teacher that pursuing life as a property investor could prove beneficial.
Hitting the Jackpot Another member success story that Roger remembers well is the time when one of his members suddenly had a ton of luck come their way. This member had been attending Property Club events and workshops for some years, but never had the money to make an investment of his own.
Roger was determined to help this member go down the path of investment, so he organised a broker to look at the member’s finances and they came up with a borrowing capacity of $350,000. The member with Roger’s help then found a great property in Chermside for $345,000. Around the same time, this member also put their name in for a builder’s jackpot of $50,000.
There were a few hiccups with the bank loan, as its lending policies are always changing. However eventually, this member was able to purchase the property along with his daughter, which they started work on straight away to turn it into a first-rate investment property.
The cherry on top was when this member ended up winning the $50,000 from the builder’s jackpot. Roger was so pleased for this member, who had spent years toiling away in the market. Since then, this member has helped his other daughter purchase another investment property through Property Club in Kedron.
